NR110el Designing and Deploying Community Revitalization Programs

This course focuses on the concepts and practical issues of community revitalization from the beginning of a program or project through to outcomes measurement. This includes understanding what community revitalization is and how it manifests in the communities we serve; using interdisciplinary approaches to analyze the community; understanding community leadership and partnerships; and identifying ways to meaningfully engage the community in the revitalization process. Emphasis is placed on discovering appropriate information sources, learning about engaging various community groups, and formulating program measures, impact, and sustainability.

Although this course is beneficial to anyone who is interested in how housing and community development professionals can improve, expand, or create community revitalization programs, it is specifically designed for staff at community development organizations, local social service organizations, and community-based practitioners invested in community revitalization.
