HO272 Building and Managing a HECM Counseling Program
Is your agency considering adding HECM counseling to your services? Has your agency’s longtime HECM counselor retired, taking all their knowledge with them? Are you supervising a HECM counselor for the first time? This course provides an overview of the HECM program along with detailed information about what an agency needs to do in order to provide high-quality HUD-compliant HECM counseling.
By the end of this course, participants will have gained a clearer understanding of HUD’s agency and counselor requirements for offering HECM counseling, the mandatory elements of the HECM counseling process, the resources necessary to provide HECM counseling, and the criteria by which the agency will be evaluated by HUD reviewers. Participants will have the opportunity to create a plan for creating a new HECM program or strengthening an existing program.
