HO105vcx Compliance with State and Federal Regulations for Homeownership Programs - Accelerated Faculty-led Course

A common challenge for Housing Counseling Industry participants is maintaining up-to-date knowledge regarding the application of the ever-changing consumer finance and mortgage origination regulations affecting our day-to-day practice.

Many early regulations that were enacted during the early the 1960’s and 1970’s that were passed by the Federal Reserve and HUD (Department of Housing and Urban Development) continue to affect our industry while newly created agencies like the CFPB (Consumer Financial Protection Bureau) have taken over regulatory oversight of the many components of these older regulations and are now systematically updating these older regulations to reflect changes in industry practices that have occurred since their passage.

Learners will have knowledge of State and Federal laws and regulations that affect the housing industry and housing counseling interactions with consumers. The latest regulatory changes that affect industry participants and consumers. The key elements of State and Federal laws and regulations that affect the housing industry. Process gaps at workplaces where new policies and procedures should be addressed and be able to successfully apply this knowledge to ensure organizational compliance.
