CL211b Neighborhood Health Opportunities: How Community Projects Can Build Healthy Neighbors

We might think that our health is dependent on our genetics, but actually our health is more dependent on our zip code. Health is formed in the places we live, learn, work, and play or what are called the “social determinants of health” (SDOH). These are the factors that can impact health, such as where we live, how much money we make, and whether we have access to food, healthcare, and housing. In this session, learn more about the SDOH and how to bring this comprehensive approach to your CLI project. In this workshop you will learn some ways to address health inequities through the work of your CLI Action Plan, and think through how historical hurts can be addressed through powerful community engagement and action.
