CL116 From Volunteer to Leader in Rural Communities

Come to this interactive session to learn more about the key roles that residents play as leaders in community-based organizations, not just in meetings but in day-to-day community life. Geared especially to residents of rural and small towns, we’ll take a look at: Moving up as a volunteer into a position of leadership, how to test for “fit” and answer the question – am I right for this job? Why “brand” is so valuable to a community-based organization, and how resident volunteers are the heart of that value. What it means to be an ambassador for any organization or cause, how to be effective and why it’s important.
