Sarah Kackar, AICP, is a seasoned planning practitioner with 20 years of direct experience in community planning and development, stakeholder facilitation and cross-network collaboration.

She was raised in rural Oregon, returning frequently over the years with her husband and children to know and experience the Willamette Valley. She is an expert in working with stakeholders to realize tangible impacts through rural community and economic planning, military planning and strategic facilitation/visioning. She is an experienced communicator with stakeholders across the spectrum, including federal, state, regional, tribal and local governments, nonprofits and private industry.

Her passion is creating opportunities for knowledge sharing, inspiring locally-driven community/economic development processes and providing focused guidance for strategic efforts. She enjoys finding collaborative solutions to the puzzle of land redevelopment, workforce diversification, attraction of capital, community education and economic development. She has a master's degree in regional planning from UNC-Chapel Hill and a bachelor's degree from Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota.
