ML101 Critical Thinking for Better Results

Community development organizations make decisions that directly affect some of the most vulnerable populations. No matter what role you play in your organization, strong critical thinking skills are crucial for success. We work in complicated environments with more decision-making, fewer resources, and less time than ever before. For the best results, individuals and teams must assess a situation and determine what information and perspectives are available and relevant. Participants will learn to define and avoid common critical thinking traps, including recognizing and mitigating personal and stakeholder biases as well as emotional hazards. Participants will practice assessing and communicating both the immediate and direct implications and the contingent and ripple effects of their proposed solutions.
