Vice President, Public Policy and Legislative Affairs
As Vice President of Public Policy and Legislative Affairs, Andy Blomme is responsible for working with Congressional appropriations and authorization committees, regularly explaining members the amazing work being done by NeighborWorks organizations and NeighborWorks staff to Congressional staff. Increasing Congressional awareness of NeighborWorks America and its network is critical to building and sustaining support for NeighborWorks' annual appropriation.

Prior to joining NeighborWorks in 2018, Blomme served 34 years in the U.S. Coast Guard. During his career, he commanded three different ships and was the sector commander for the Florida coast from Jacksonville to West Palm Beach. His final position in the Coast Guard was Chief of Congressional Affairs, where his primary responsibility was shepherding the service's $12 billion annual appropriation bill through Congress.

Blomme holds a Bachelor's degree from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy and masters degrees from Central Michigan University and the Marine Corps War College.

In his off time, Blomme enjoys leading the effort to construct affordable homes on his church's property and performing regularly with an improv comedy troupe.
